I have a lot in common with this museum. But that’s another story I might tell you on another occasion. For you, the exhibition is first and foremost one of Venice’s most famous sights, often left out by day visitors.
Whether you like modern art or not, the neighborhood around the Peggy Guggenheim Collection is definitely worth a detour. It’s off the circuit between Piazzale Roma, Rialto and St. Mark’s Square, and that alone means there are far fewer people there than at the city’s other attractions
If you take a few steps or alleys away from the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, chances are you can experience Venice as solitary and pristine as it once was. Alma, Lucia and I were there several times just the other day, visiting the deserted alleys between the Canale di Giudecca and the museum.
